Support for Mentor Graphics Flows

Board Station

At ALS we are able to accept Mentor Graphics' Board Station layout designs and convert them to the Cadence AllegroPCB format. This process allows us to complete part-routed layouts or carry out re-spins of existing layouts, originally designed using the Mentor tools. The translation capability also means that Board Station designs are compatible with Allegro PCB SI - allowing us to run the complete suite of signal integrity tools on the design, as if it were our own!

 

PADS Layout

We are also able to accept Mentor Graphics' PADS Layout designs and convert them to the Cadence AllegroPCB format. This process allows us to support the PADS customer base for layout, routing and signal integrity analysis.

 

 

Mentor DxDesigner 

For several years, users of Cadence Allegro Design Entry-HDL (Concept) have enjoyed the ability to enter high-speed design constraints through a 'Constraint Manager' tool. Bringing in constraints from other front-end tools has, historically, been a problem. 

However, we can now import high-speed constraints from Mentor's DxDesigner product by use of a bolt-on Allegro interface. Using this tool, DxDesigner can output its netlist complete with all the necessary rules for high-speed design: matched-group, trace length, propagation delay, maximum via, maximum stub length....

ALS are therefore fully compatible with design teams equipped with the DxDesigner product.
